Fancy Fridays

Aloha

Another week gone and its Groundhog day. Monday. Yep. However, the Sun is shining which makes me want to skip singing ‘Tra, la,la,laaaa’ down the street so I am finding it hard to be mad at Monday today.
My weekend was non-eventful which is to be expected when you live on Rue de La Broke. Although, a lovely BBQ with friends on Friday night...where my Boyfriend burned one of my shoes in the fire. Yes, he burnt my shoe until it turned to ash. Farewell shoe!
I also spent some time with my family on the Sunday catching up as my Mum and sis embark on a trip to Hawaii today but I also caught up on 3 weeks worth of Woman’s day.

Anywho, Something I would like to blog about today is THEMES. Yay, Themes. Particularly on Fridays and it is what i have dubbed ‘Fancy Fridays’. This is a little adventure I started back at my previous workplace JAG  & Diana Ferrari  (DF did the Fancy Friday 'Red' this week so hoping to score some pics) with a bunch of lovely people. I would send an email Wednesday with the theme and then inspirations for the theme and easy ways to dress up in the said theme.
One of my favourites has to be ‘The Royal Wedding’ (Pic below). I sent out an ‘invitation’ to the Royal wedding and we all got dressed up in ensembles fit for a Royal wedding. I choose to be a flower girl, because I am short and I’m sure I could pull off being a flower girl for the day.
Other themes we had were simple (‘stripes’, the colour ‘Pink’) and others a little more challenging (‘Elizabeth Taylor’ and ‘Lady Gaga’). It was all for fun, not competitive what so ever and a great way to talk to people in your office you might not have had a conversation with before!

However, even though I am in a new workplace, I still wear a theme or two and have managed to get some of my new colleagues into it...So far there has been Harry Potter Fancy Friday and another Lady Gaga Fancy Friday (because well, I just can’t get enough of her!).
This Friday just passed was no exception and I stole a fabulous idea from a Friend of a Friend Nat and their team at Just Group who has also started Friday themes with their team and they choose Geek (They have also done 'Nautical', which i adored!). I loved it so much, i just had to do it...below are the team looking absolutely like a Geekilicious Gang of Geek if I ever did see!:

Now me...I used the Steve Urkel for inspiration but I did not have pants high enough so these had to do. I do look like a boy and someone actually yelled at me on the street and used some un-savoury language which i have replaced with ‘fruiting’...  “Why don’t you dress fruiting normal” and some exasperated sounds followed. The joys of the closed minded.

So hopefully I will be posting a new theme for Fancy Friday every week and would love to see any pics of those who fancy it up or those who have their own themes. Share the Theme love!!
**Spoiler alert**  Halloween is in 2 weeks and yes, this will be a theme naturally!!

Enjoy what is left of the Monday and ensure you bring some theme love to your life!

Aloha

Forget Monday blues...It's all about the Monday Brights.

Hello there,

Yes, the weekend is gone and Monday again snuck up upon us like a Cat upon her Fancy feast grilled turkey prime fillet.

It is always a case of the Monday blues, Mondayitis  or a 'case of the Mondays' (Yes, thank you  Office Space http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0151804/) for the working class man/woman zombie like stumbling towards the day of paper shuffling ahead; drowning in sweet, sweet caffeinated beverages.

But no Monday, you will not win! I like to give a fist pump to Monday and to the start of the week by embracing the Monday Brights...
NB. This is my first ever out fit post and I give props to bloggers who are able to photograph themselves so well without the aid of a person nearby. All I had was a stack of dvds to rest the camera and a cat unwilling to assist and really after a piece of the limelight.

Outfit details: Dress: Ebay $3 stolen from old housemate, Cardigan: Target darling (also stolen from old housemate), Ah-mazing Shoes: Wittner http://www.wittner.com.au/shoes/heels/sunshine-turquoise-nubuck.html: Ring: Gift from le boyfriend, Necklace: Gift from a friend, Cat: Tigerlily Tixylix a.k.a Lily

So take that Monday, I give you brights! I suggest donning rainbow colours... dress brightly enough and your boss won't be able to focus on what you are working on as they will be distracted by the glare of your loud clothing and will need to escape before coming down with a colour blocking headache.

But Monday is fading out and the rest of the week is marching on in...embrace the Bright I say!

Evening to you,

L.K.

Introductions. How do you do?

Hello there.
I am a Lady. My name is Kady. I inhabit the city of Meowbourne.
How do you do?

It is a grey, chilly Spring afternoon and I hide inside with my kitty sidekick Lilykins and am stuffed full with an experimental yet satisfying home baked Flour-less Chocolate Pumpkin "cake". I say cake however it had more gooey pudding consistency. However you will learn more about my cooking adventures as my blog unfolds.

Now to introduce myself. The simplest way of explaining myself is sharing a few of my favourite things...

  • I am the Queen of half finished projects (2 inches of a Magenta knitted scarf anyone?) but  regardless I love to create pretty things when inspired.
  • J'adore Fashion, in particular the styling of fashions. The pretty puzzle that is an outfit.
  • Every morning is a new challenge to piece together that puzzle, to create my inspired outfit of the day.
  • It is a desperation of mine to be Parisian. French anything makes me swoon and I can read food labels in French.
  • Food. I live to eat. The slight hitch in my food universe is that I have been a Coeliac (Non Gluten eater) for 6 years and I have just recently being diagnosed with Fructose malabsorption and Lactose intolerance which has led to mad scientist experiments in my kitchen.
  • Cats... Fluffy. Meowy. Smoochy. Adorable. It is almost sickening the love I have for my cat. Any cat. When I meet a cat on my travels, I give them a name which is always food related...Marshmallow, Salami, Tangerine, Tzatziki...the list is ridiculously long.
  • Weirdy beardys. If i were in a circus (and could actually grow a beard), I would be the lady in a pink unflattering unitard sprouting a luscious beard. Luckily for now, the boyfriend has a luscious enough beard for the both of us.
  • Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter and the Wizard Of Oz are my most favoured tales of fantasy and adventure. I wish to have a mad tea party with The Queen of Hearts, Snape and Wicked witch of the West and we shall sip G&Ts (with lime, cucumber and mint) together and discuss how to brighten up their wardrobes. Perhaps their tempers would lessen with a little colour            (**Spolier alert...if Snape and the Witch were not dead of course**)?
Enough of that...Over the course of time, I will blog about many things as I am very indecisive person (I am Libran) and like to switch topics. Every day is a new day and a new inspiration to be had...
-END SCENE-

Pleased to meet you.
